In Case You Think Cellphones Are Not Hackable..

Then, let me tell you that you are going to be way too wrong. I hope that you will exercise more care with the use of the latest apps in your cellphones. Even the sophisticated iPhone is not spared as an Australian hacker has successfully proven that the iPhone is hackable. It spreads from phone to phone with each call - but this particular virus is not likely to upset too many people. The virus simply changes the iPhones' wallpaper - the background image on the screen - to a photograph of 1980s singer Rick Astley, famous for his hit Never Gonna Give You Up. The virus itself is not malicious and is not out to hurt people. It's just poking fun and hopefully waking people up a little especially those who are lazy with their password security. I hope that you will be ever careful here with your cellphones, mobile phones, hand phones or smart phones. Take care and have a nice day. I guess as cellphones are now more like a computer, it will definitely receive the same kind of virus threats computers are facing today. I believe cellphones antivirus software will soon be the norm in the near future. This is an inevitable reality that cellphone users will face.

stormragetz, Well, you can say that again as more of these end users are getting onto the net for all sorts of reasons. I think this will just open up their eyes to errant and illegal sites. IMO the anti virus software for these phones are still hamstrung compared to those we have on our personal computers and I wouldn't be too active on the net with even the latest Droid phone. Lest I could afford a couple of them once they are rendered FUBAR. Have a nice day.

cynthiann, You are most welcome. I hope that all's well at your end and if you are active online with your cellphone or iPhone - then do take the necessary precautions. You never know what danger lurks in these superhighway. Have a nice day.

This is something I am not really surprised with, and am sure as more technology is available for these phones, there will be more stuff happening with them for sure. I guess it is just the Best to protect yourself all around with any device that can access the internet as well.

KrauseHome, I think you hit it right on the nail when you say the best is to protect oneself all around with the use of these devices. It is not really a matter of damage it might cause to the phone or computer but the theft of vital confidential data like your online banking account and credit card login information and passwords. These will really hurt anyone who are careless with their personal and confidential information. Take care.

Sky Thanks for the info. With the technology today and all those young people out there willing to prove anybody wrong, especially with the most difficult tasks. It seems that those who think they are so smart with their new computer and phone systems, just to name 2, are daring anyone to prove them wrong. In my opinion, they are just asking for it. Leenie
