Don't You Hate It When....

People give you advice on something you already know. This is a slight pet peeve of mine and it happens alot. Most people have good intentions, they just feel the need to offer too much help instead of just enough. Hard to be angry at them, they mean well. The other day I was doing laundry at the Laundromat, and a women,I guess assuming I'm the typical hopeless bachelor, told me I should separate my socks and blue jeans. I already know this but didn't want to appear ungrateful or rude. I thought I'd deal with it with some humor,so I told her "I would, but I don't have a stick." I thought it funny, apparently she did not. What simple, harmless pet peeve irks you? Was it funny?

I agree - it is very annoying. I hate people who repeat themselves over and over again. Thats probably the reason I don't get along with elderly people. I love my grandmother a lot, but talking to her becomes a chore. She insists we talk every day and that phone call always leaves me irritable. I don't like to hear the same story told 5 times, especially not within a single phone call.

Good response! I have similar problem, only it seems I get asked the same question a hundred times a day. Elderly people can be understood, but this person is nowhere near that! I guess it's another human flaw that we put up with because it's in us too.
