Does Israel have the moral high ground, when its Rabbis allow murder?

Earlier this week, I saw an article on the Hareetz website, which showed a Rabbi allowing anyone, even babies and children, to be murdered, if they "posed a threat" to the nation of Israel. Would this change your view of Israel?
