I am an avid cat lover, and throughout the years I've never had a normal name for any of them. Like Mustard, Gemo, Lil F**ker, Chip, Shmoe, and then there was Halo and Nirvana. They were the closest to normal names that I've given. But now i have a cute little bundle of energy that i named Sandwich lol There are endless possibilities for cat names. What are yours and what inspired them? Tell us all about your kitties!

Do you remember the kitten you named Joan? I have no idea where you got that name from and it's definitely not your typical cat name! What was the name of her sister? I can't remember. Your mom's brain doesn't work very well these days. All I remember is that one of them had two broken legs. Do you remember those kittens or were you too young then? Aha! Whitey. That was her sister's name. Your brother named her that with his incredible imagination.

I am the owner of three cats currently, two female turtle shell calicos named Maggie and Piper ( in order of older and younger age ) and a bit fat beast named Mouser. Maggie and Piper both are avid bird hunters from their earliest caterwauls, hence their folklore rooted names. Mouser on the other hand is nearly 15 pounds, a huge Abyssinian tabby boy...but for all his size, he can barely make a squeak come out of his mouth. Hence the cat with a voice like a mouse.

Calico's are cute, But every one of them, I've come across has been a hard headed little brat lol. I dont know what kind of tabby my Sandwich is, but I posted a picture of her

Well I have one named Maggie who is just a soft loving sweetheart, and the other and younger Calico named Piper who is a mean little adolescent brat most of the time. They are individuals to be sure.

I have two sisters who are called Voodoo and Zombi. I suppose my partner and I have always had rather gothic interests, but the main reason at the time was that they were my two favourite BPAL scents. They really suit their names too. Voodoo is scatty, crazy, trouble and Zombi is a little slow and always interested in her food. I was also toying with the names Lobster and Wench, but I think the right names just settle in almost by themselves. You know it when you've found their right names.

My cat's name is Paizly. It took me about 2 weeks to name her...I'm really fanatic about names, their meanings and origins. She was a stray kitten I rescued, because she has just stubs for back legs (no paws or ankles), and knew she wouldn't be able to hunt. I didn't want to "insult" her by naming her something related to that (my dad, on the other hand, calls her Stubby), so I went by color and pattern. Eventually I did "paisley" because she has mottle coloring and swirl-stripes on her front legs. And then I spelled it weird, to make it more unique. I have found stray kittens in the wood pile the other day. I'm debating if I should name them now, or wait to see if I can actually tame them a bit before I go to the "trouble" of choosing names for them.

Yeah, I'm the same way when it comes to naming things. I think naming cats after food is the most fun though lol. The next cat I get, if I get another one, is going to be named Taco lol
