Here's the latest news from Nokia and they are recalling a certain batch of phone chargers in the box or sold separately on their own. It is believed and determined that the plastic covers of the affected chargers could come loose and separate, exposing the charger’s internal components and potentially posing an electric shock hazard if certain internal components are touched while the charger is plugged into a live socket. So, if you had purchased a Nokia phone or phone charger lately, you are advised to check the batch number from the Nokia website (Below). The company assures that there will be a replacement free of charge for these "faulty" chargers. I hope that none of you here are affected. Have a nice day. Well, there goes another warning for cell phone users. I think they're bound to have glitches now and then. I mean, there have been cases where batteries have caused some minor injuries after they over heated and exploded. Same goes for chargers. Scary thought. Thanks for sharing.

rg0205, I suppose this will happen every now and then - model to model, brand to brand, parts to parts. Even other appliances are affected like computers, laptops, adapters and etc.. We just cannot control these from happening as most of the these accessories and parts are manufactured from contracted independent manufacturers and from different parts of the world. Quality control can be an issue sometimes as the standards are never standardized. So, do check out if your charger or your friend's charger is affected as this recall is worldwide and estimated to be millions. Take care.
