This question popped in my head last night while I was watching Larry King discussing the execution of John Allen Muhammad. I was wondering what people thought about the death penalty. Well, I'm against the death penalty. I believe the person should get life in prison. Let the person seat in prison for the rest of their life and think about what they did. Its going to haunt them and drive them crazy. But I don't believe in killing and yes killing someone is wrong and you must be punished for it. But don't punish them by killing them. On e of the Ten Commandments is "Thy Shall Not Kill". I believe just leaving it up to God and He will punish them. Yes, the longer they stay in jail the more tax dollars they are spending, but we can not play God. What are your thoughts on the death penalty? Are you for or against the death penalty?

hi,alexsis!I find this issue is very meaningful. since childhood,I had alway heard of "a tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye."so I had alway believed that a killer must be excuted, for the social order and to comfort the family of the victim. But I began to suspect it when I known that some people in western countries appealed to abolish capital penalty, saying the object of justice was to educate and correct criminals, but to kill them.I found this made sense.killing the criminal cannot make the victim alive again, and I agree that deprive his free, confining him to a jail for a long enough time is the best way to penalize him.in my opinion,at least some of the captical criminals can be given such a chance.
