Craig Ferguson - American on Purpose

I just finished the book written by TV's Craig Ferguson. I have to say it was a well written and fun book to read. Each chapter a part of his life as he goes from Glasgow Scotland to being the Late Late Show host on CBS and an American citizen. Being born in America, many of us forget the road to becoming American. We were born into it. With a nod to Veteran's Day today, I look at how America was built and the journey to become an American. Craig appreciates what America had to offer, and what he worked for and has become. It is a bit of a roller coaster ride, with adventures and pitfalls, but being only a few years older then him, I can recognize many of his observations. There are times I wish I had taken some of the steps he took. I am not going to do a book report and tell bits and pieces of his life, but I am going to say I heartily suggest that it is a book to go out and read. For those who don't have the time to actually sit down and read, it is also in audio format, so you can listen while driving or while doing other things. If you know someone who likes watching his overnight show, it would also be a great Christmas present. The first chapter, happening in April of 2008 I think, he was the entertainment at a Washington dinner for politicians and news people. I like the way he speaks of his meeting of then President George W Bush. This chapter gives the first insight into the mind of what I feel is the best late night talk show host since Johnny Carson.

I like his show so much because Craig has such a great sense of humor. The show is spontaneous alot of times which makes it even more fun. I love how he throws the notes away when the guest comes on. He is just alot of fun to watch. I loved Johnny Carson too he was the best late night talk host ever. I have to see about getting Craig's book. Thanks for sharing and have a great evening.
