where you a smoker, how did you quit

were you a smoker, for how many years and how did you manage to quit

I wasn't so the question doesn't apply to me...but I do know a few people who have tried nicotine patches and they worked. My Dad used to smoke but somehow he just quit cold turkey. My Mom still smokes. She's tried a few times to kick the habit but she can't stay away.

I am a smoker and I have not yet managed to quit. OK, I quit occasionally and then start back up again. I haven't found a system that works yet. But as soon as I do, I'll surely let you know!
