How old are you when you first drove a bicycle?

I have a little fear to ride on a single bicycle.
When I was about 8 years old, I was prohibited on going out of the house on specific hours of the day. In other words, I have a curfew hours.
One day, my father went out of town for a business trip. When my mother fell I sleep, I grabbed that opportunity to sneak out of the house and go to my playmates.
I found them on the street, playing around with their bicycles. They started on pushing me to try. So, I did.
But little as I was, I didn't have any idea about balancing. So, off I went, not knowing what to do with the handlebar. No matter how hard I try to turn it, it seems to have a mind of its own. To make it short, I went straight to the drainage that's full with water and dirt. I fell and got myself soaked into the waters. I'll never forget that.
I was nervous when I saw my father from the corner of my eyes entering our gate. I was lucky enough to be unnoticed. But maybe he wasn't just expecting me to be outside.
After taking some time of rehearsing my alibis, I went inside. If I was going to face judgment, I might as well take my verdict sooner than later.
My parents were silent when they saw me. I know they are mad and angry. But there was an expression in my face that made them stop and think what to say. Until now, I'm still figuring it out. Maybe I was just so tiny then and they didn't know what exactly to do with my recklessness. Gee!

I am trying to figure out and imagine how you look like when you entered your house and your parents saw you soaking wet, you are really scared and just waiting for a word from your parents...if i am your mom i will give you a hug and thank god that you are safe!
Well, the first time i drove a bicycle was when i was 10 years old. It was summer then and my younger brothers and cousins were playing and enjoying with their bikes. they encouraged me to try and i did. I also fell and got bruises but that was it. I learned from there and had fun with bicycle.

don't give up... try and try until you make it. it's really fun. i know you can make it just be determined and have the courage to drive it!

Not really, many children where I live learn how to ride bikes at that age. Learning to ride a bike at four or five is average.

I envy to my youngest sister that time because at the age of 5 she can ride a big bicycle sometimes my mother scolded her. So I tried it also to ride a bike when I was 12 at first I don't know how to balance but later on I get used to it. My mother gets angry to us because she don't want us to ride a bike because me and my youngest sister are accident prone kids. She warned our neigbor that don't allow us to borrow their bike so I stop practicing to ride a bike. I don't know if I still can ride a bicycle or not.

I think I was around 9 or 10 years old when I first learned how to ride a bicycle. It did take me a few times with my relative holding the handle bar as a rode. But after a few times I could ride without them helping me. I was such a wonderful experience. Its something I will never forget.

I was already riding a bicycle when I was 4years old. However, those had training wheels of course! I think I was 6 or 7 when I learned how to ride it without any help. After that, I was always out riding my bicycle. It's such a fun activity, especially when your a kid.

wew! atleast you have some training wheels. i don't have the kind of parents who would buy me stuffs like that. it looks dangerous for them. or maybe i was the one who seems capable of making them dangerous. i don't know :(

I think I was like 3 or 4 years old. I still had the training wheels at the time but it's been a while since I last rode on one because we don't really ride bikes where I live. I live in the city so you hardly see people riding bikes here. The ones that do, are normally delivery guys.

Hmmm riding a bicycle is really a challenging one in the first time you learn how to drive it. As what i remember i was Grade 4 that time, And i drove the bigger one already, i actually had many scars from it. But it was really a good experience for me, because there are many that doesn't know how to drive because they are scared. And i really enjoy to challenge myself.

I enjoy driving a bicycle very much. Until now, although a bicycle is not a necessity of my daily life any more, I tend to drive a bike for fun.
I remember that when I was only 7 years old, my dad began to teach me to drive the bike. At first, I was careful all the time in case of unexpected troubles. After a long time, I could ride it unsteadily because I didn't know how to keep in counterpoise.
Throughout the learning, I was a so dull boy that my parents had lost their patience to teach me any longer. Luckily, I had learned to drive at last.

That's it. The boys are better than girls. I mean, if it was my brother, riding a bicycle wouldn't be that hard. But when it comes to me, I don't know. Well, as for you, you're a guy so you can ride it even if seems dangerous for kids. I envy you. Gee! :)

I honestly can't remember how old I was when I first learned to ride a bicycle without training wheels on it. It has definitely been forever.
However, my daughter learned how to ride hers at six years old, just this past summer. She came inside one day and insisted that either myself or her father take the training wheels off for her. She took off immediately after that and hasn't had a problem riding her bike since then. She even taught her older friend (12 years old) to ride a bicycle after she'd learned the trade.

I was 3 when I first rode a tricycle, and 7 when I first rode a bicycle. I fell down only once, then it seemed like I was too scared to fall so I made myself stay up and keep my balance. My dad taught me, so it's a sort of bitter-sweet memory. But I was so proud when I rode it all the way down the block without falling off!
