Who it's socially acceptable to hate

I am a member of two of the top ones of these, smokers, and old white men. It was my decision to start smoking. After that, free will is diminished, as smoking is a physical addiction, and it is legal, except in designated areas. I find that most people are not concerned on the basis of my health or theirs, or anyone else's, Quite simply smokers are one of the few groups it is socially acceptable to harass, berate, and otherwise treat badly. It matters not the pains we go to in order not to offend, smokers are simply morally inferior, and deserving of derision. As for old white men. Well I have absolutely no choice in this matter. I was born white, and I've lived this long. Now I'll grant you that the world is run mostly by old white men, and they're running it into the ground! But the vast, vast vast majority of us are just slaves like the rest of you!

Interesting. I'm a smoker and it seems I'm thus responsible for all the world's problems. I'm not getting any younger either, and it seems that in general society's attitudes are changing (for the worse) towards me as I move towards the end of middle-age. I think some people just HAVE to have someone to hate (as they are incapable of thinking), and they are carried along by the tide of popular opinion, rather than sit and think and make up their own minds.

now i will say i dislike smokers but not the nice ones just the rude ones i'm marrying one so i cant say i hate them. as far as old white men ive only hated the ones whom are sexist or racist and that has little to do with the fact that they are old and white. the people i do hate are smart people who went gangster cause thats just silly, rapists because they are just sick particularly the child raping variety, and people who kill for fun weather the kill be human or animal i find it wrong to kill without need or good reason.

I just can't stand smokers...Its not only that they're being a risk to there health but to the people around them as well... There's also some who are so rude that even you've made it clear that you don't like breathing their smoke yet they still continue to do it like there's nobody around them.

Yes,you would be the self-rightous type to whom I was referring. I would guess you also get "creeped out" by older people, especially when they try to mix in with younger people. Not to worry, Obama care will eventually eliminate us soon! Which is a non-sequeter-they need smokers to help pay for it!

It's not right to hate anyone. Yes, smoking can be a problem for you and others. You see, second hand smoke can cause cancer as well. Quit today. You can do this but you must stop and never smoke even one again. It time you can make it too.

I AM NOT a humanist! If humanity had the answers, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in! At their base, Humanists, Atheists, Agnostics, et al, mostly are trying to avoid the issue that there is an all powerful, all knowing creator to whom they will be called to account!

Hatred is never acceptable, under any circumstances. It is destructive, and too many of its results have destroyed entire civilizations.

Hate is such a strong word, many people fail to realized this. I think we should take a closer look at ourselves, and we might find out the reason we hate other people is because deep down inside we hate ourselves.
