Actually, I don't really enjoy texting. I do it out of necessity but I think it's easier to just pick up the phone and text. For example, here in Hong Kong, we get monthly phone plans that include at least 1000-2000 minutes of airtime, depending on what plan you purchased per month. Text is included but it's not as much as the minutes. So, the best thing to do would be to call instead of text. It's cheaper.
BUT
When I was in Manila, it was the opposite. Texting was cheaper so I had to text people, which I wasn't quite used to. It was annoying I must admit but well, it was cheaper.

I like to be able to send quick messages or questions without having to have an entire conversation. It's also quieter.

For me I like texting a lot better than calling because everyone has different schedules and not everyone is going to be in a situation to where they can just pick up the phone but they might be able to answer a text message. Also text messages are a lot more private. I'm away at college and bus transportation to and from my apartment to campus is a major part of my day. If I'm talking to someone I'd rather just say it in a text than broadcast it to the entire population on the bus. Especially if its something personal. So I see how texting is absolutely wonderful. Plus it really isn't that much money anymore - so many companies have great unlimited texting plans.

I enjoy texting as it is more private that talking on th phone, as everyone can hear you if you don't lie alone that is. I do live alone, so I do both, as my daughter will text ne at times, and let me know how things are going with her. Also, she will text me if things are going on that she wants to tell me, and doesn't want anyone to know what she is saying. At least with texting, unless someone check your messages, no one will ever know what it being said. I really like teing better than talking, but like I said before I will do both whenever the situation warrnats one or the other. Take care, an happy mylotting.

I can't stand texting as a phone does not have a proper keyboard. I have said it many times and will say it again...
