Ive been on a job search. Its hard to find a job in today economy one that has benefits and the pay to go with it. I have been filling out job applications all over the place. What gets me are the companies that do the online applications. What gets your application noticed. Its so impersonal. I want to turn it in to the person who hires so they can meet me not some cold computer generated impression of me. I did get a good job and what got me hired was my race. I put other. I stood out in the line of people applying for the 3 positions they had open. I will be making 15 an hour to start and in 90 days have full benefits paid for by the company I am one of the lucky ones. I was always checking white on the applications when it occurred to me that I am an American. It should not matter what box I check on the application under race it I was born In the great USA and salute the flag then I am American. We all are. It does not matter what color your skin is black white red yellow purple if you were born in American then that's your Race American. Plain and Simple. What matters is that you have the skills training and talent to do the job that you are applying for. Qualifications! My father fought in WWII for my rights as a American citizen and we have men and women fighting for our rights every day in the service for our country. To the past present and future service men and women I salute you. I will now check other on the race box with American That is what i am. Maybe its time all American quit worrying about what color they and and just put American. That in its self gives us the right to work. Freedom of Speech baby.

The answer to this one is very broad. It depends on where you are (which country) and what the job situation is like where you're at. Normally, when the number of applicants overwhelm the job spots, the method of narrowing down potential candidates can be very petty. That's when they pick on little things. It is unfair but I must say that the job market is getting more competitive these days.
