why don't people listen???

i find that most people that give good advice doesn't seem to take it. why won't you listen to yourself. why am i able to tell this young lady how she should handle her relationship problems but i don't even know how to handle my own. why won't i take my own advice??? why won't i listen to people when they try to tell me the exact same thing i tell my friends???

I think it is easy to see the right path we think others should take but when it comes to our own lives we are ruled by our hearts most times and we over-rule logic...

that is what i thought too. being in love can also mean being a little weak. kinda like letting our guards down.

Hi there, That we do not listen to ourselves is only because we are driven by ego more than anything? The question comes - "why should I listen to him/her? Do not I have my own conscience?" - this leads to the catastrophe. If we are able to shed our egotistic nature surely we would listen the good word of people.

we need to think that the people that gives us advise know how to solve our problems. we need to show them some respect. think that maybe he knows better than us. then we can accept their advise with an open heart.

I guess that's because things are easier said than done. It's easy to think about the right thing to do. It's simply logic. It's hard to put it on action though. That's one of the ironies in life.
