How do I re-upholster dining room chairs?

We have a dining room set of chairs that are wood with upholstered padded seats that need new upholstery and padding. We have purchased the fabric and the padding foam, but I hasitate to begin the job since I have never upholstered anything before. I am somewhat handy but I struggle because I try to do things perfectly and if I make a mistake I find it totally unacceptable. I realize upholstering the seats of dining room chairs is probably the easiest of upholstery jobs. I am looking for some step by step instructions that I can follow and avoid any errors. The seats have a 3/8th inch plywood base. I have 1 inch foam for the padding and upholstery fabric to use. How do I start attaching the fabric? What edge do I go to next? How do I stretch the fabric? How do I fold the corners? Do I cut the corners prior to folding and what is the best cutting method? I thank you for your assistance on any advice you may offer. Dean
