We all know that here in our country there are many celebrities that aspire to be politicians. Whatever the position, as long as they are in the government. So the question is, is that okay? I mean, we all know that our country is not in a good condition today. Economically speaking, we are not developing as rapidly as other countries. So, if celebrities became politicians can they help solve the problem? or do they make the country's situation worse? What do you think? Is it only popularity that help them achieve position? And, would you vote for your favorite celebrity if ever he/she's running for a position in the government?

This is a sad reality in the Philippines. Popularity, money, subordination are some prime requisites in order to win a seat in the politics. If you dont have them you will lose. Some actors turns into politics without an in-depth idea of what is really politics. Some of them didn't have any background on political processes. They were just there in the position because of their fame but on the actual involvement of law making they stay as indeed an actor- wait for the director to say "cut" or "take two". What laws are they going to sponsored if some of them are just plain actor without a degree?.However, reality will always remind us that we are still a developing country the vast majority of the electorate are coming from the MASSES.

i really hate showbiz people who enters politics and WINS because of their popularity... if they really want to do such things, they should qualify first, like taking up politics or something like that so they could serve better and not look good only on TV. look at sen lapid for example... *sigh

Actually I don't have any issues voting for actors wanting to run for a position in the government. What I look for is if they are capable of running a state or producting even a worthwhile program that will benefit the people. But I think most of the time these actors just enter politics just for the power and money it entails. Ofcourse this is just my opinion.

I would vote for them if, and only if I thought they could do the job they are seeking. Although they maybe my favorite person in entertainment, if they are only there because they are cute, then they are worthless to us as a politician. I have seen many in our country that has went on to do great things for our country, I think some times people get stuck in a role as a actor, say as comedians and it hard for people to take them serious when it comes to running a state or city or into the sentate. I alway look at the points they are trying to make and decide will this help me or the rest of my state or country. Then I decide.

I don't think a celebrity can do well in the politics bacause it is needed a lot of experiences. If a star or a singer who did a lot in the performing or play they may don't have the enough experiences of politics. So I can't trust them.
