I am vegetarian so I never eat pork but even when i ate meat i never ate pork either. I have always thought that pigs are so intelligent-they're actually as intelligent as dogs. However, if I did eat pork, I wouldn't have any problem eating it with all the swine flu going on as it's not spread through pigs. I think it originated in birds? Whenever these terrible things happen like swine flu, mad cow and other poisoning I shake my head and think that this wouldn't be an issue if people didn't eat animals. It causes so many health problems and it's scientfically proven that vegetarians are healthier and have lower instances of cancers and other health problems.

Sure, why not? Whats wrong with pork? "swine" flu is spread by humans to humans, not from pigs. you cannot catch h1n1 from eeating poerk, you get it by being around other people who have h1n1. In fact, I am having pork chops with apple stuffing for dinner tonight.

Viruses sometimes mutate, this one mutated so that it could be passed from human to human, though it isn't genuinley a "swine" flu, it is a variation of h1n1, similar to the flu we see every year, swine flu is not really an acurate term for it since it isn't nessesarily a pig born flu, the moment it became spreadable human to human, it became something else entirely.

oh then how the h1n1 came to human its a respiratory problem for pig and birds how it came to human

Hi friend, Since the H1N1 has come to the fore I have never stopped eating pork. And it is almost four r fifth month of the occurrence of the incidence but most people of my locality have not had any swine flue and therefore I believed that this is just a hoax. Nothing happens eating pork.

I haven't eaten pork for a long time. But it doesn't have any thing to do with the swine flu. Pigs are really very dirty animals. They will eat any thing if given the chance. They are scavenger just like vultures. They can be carries of the trichina worm that can't be killed no matter how long it is cooked.

You don't get the swine flu from eating pork! The swine flu is a virus, that has just been given this name (heaven only knows why)! My sister works at a hospital, and she reassured me on this!

Ever since news of the "swine flu" began, I haven't stopped eating pork. As long as the meat is properly prepared and cooked to a safe temperature, there are no problems with pork. The pork industry has really been hurt by the public's fears about this virus. People should do some research and then breathe a sigh of relief and eat some pork chops and some bacon. Pork is fine to eat.

Hi sarwanever, I didn't stop eating pork because of the swine flu. As I understand it, all pigs that had the disease were destroyed and you can't catch the disease from eating pork. I'm sure that all countries don't have the same regulations for food inspection so it may to necessary to take extra precausions in some parts of the world. Blessings.

oh that's right some serious regulation for food inspection has to be taken

I had pork like three times this week. I absolutely hate pork but everyone else in my family loves it. I'm kind of forced to eat it. If I do get swine flu, it will probably be from other people and not pork.

Why not? The refrigeration & cooking process would have killed any viruses in the meat. Exposure to a live sickly pig would be required for it to pass from a pig.

Ok, First, Swine Flu or N1H1 did NOT come from pigs. It is a flu on steroids. There are no medications to treat it because there are no medications to treat the flu. You can treat the symptoms. There has never been any harm in eating pork. It will not cause you to get it. This is not the same as mad cow disease. Second, it has not calmbed down much. If you look in the southern states, many children and elderly are getting it. The public has just started to take precautions against it. There are shots just like the flu shot you get every year. People are starting to wash their hands more and taking precautions. I have never stoped feeding my family pork. It was stated very early on that this is not from pigs. I really wish people would get facts straight about this. go check out the CDC web site for updated info. I do pay attention because I do have 3 small children. The one who is in school has been exposed. I feel it is my responsibility to keep up with this.

hi,sarwanever! flu has been growing into a grave problem all over the world and I am fear of catching it too.my families and I now and then remind each other of preventing it . But I have never been thought about stopping eating pork, neither my families.we don't think flu can infect us in the way.as far as now,no one deem that pigs should be slaugtered. pork has been our main kind of meat we eat,it remains its importance even during this uncommen time. if pork is declared not fit to be eaten by medical cirle afer beef,I will be so upset.why do livestocks involved in such terrible diseases and threaten us?can't human deal with them?science and technology have become so advanced but human beings are still troubled by flu! I hope things will be all right in a short time! have a nice day and take care!
