i used to like silver jewely as this compliments pale skin and dark hair (i think). however, after buying a necklace and a toe ring made of this mineral i have to resort to brushing my silver necklace everytime i take a bath. i use an old toothbrush and a toothpaste. it was a hassle and the moment that necklace got lost i never bought another silver accessory again.
why do silver turns dark? i know this isn't always the case...

hi Ritchelle, actually not just silver, even gold will turn black for long term wear and tear.
I heard from my mum who used to tell us that we need to 'wash' this with some chemical stuff as then it will stay the way we wanted.
I send my gold necklace and bracelet to the shop too for annual 'cleaning'.
There is a saying that as our body has heat, therefore this mineral accessories will surely turn darker.

thanks for that information. somebody said that it is because of sweat's acidity that makes silver dark. however, i have another question: they say only those who do not think would wear silver in salt water. i guess i don't know how to think
. any reason you know about?
