will u give money to a beggar? i will ,but depend on how "poor" he/she looks. not many beggars in my country (Australia), but there's alot of people will ask u for $1 or $2 on the street, some of them are teenagers, i sometime wonder should i or shouldnt i? cos if i gave them money, they will keep asking people, they become lazy and think money comes easy! some of them will even just u for a cigarette. will u give them money ?

I completely agree with you. I only give to those who really looks poor or in need. Especially the old ones. But I don't usually give to those healthy beggars especially those with big muscles. I also hate those mothers who uses their babies just to get money from people. They're parading their young under the sun for money. I hate them. Poor babies. shadow41

Hi debbie Yes. It is not in the best of interest to assume anything in this case. Whether the beggar is in that position on his own accord, or due to an unfortunate, rather not controlable situation, it is always good to help someone in need. The beggar, whether man, woman, or child does beyond appealing to sympathy have worth in this world. We all have a worth. Because we have been able to do better than those who haven't had the same life, situations, and opportunities, it is our duty to help them. If a beggar is in my direction of travel and appears to be in great need, I will give to the beggar.

i absolutely agree! i think what you have said is wonderful and so is your belief. i also will give what i have to help. its not my job to judge them on if they "really" need it. it my job to love one another and that includes helping out the bum on the corner with out question.

It depends on the condition of the beggars. If she or he is physically unfit, then there is nothing wrong in helping them.Encourage begging is not a right thing. It is better to help them by giving food and dresses. Most of the beggars misuse the money for drinking smoking and other anti social activities.

it depends on the physical and mental condition of those people, i i see people physically unfit to work and earn money , i will donate them or if time permits i shall offer them some food. Many people are sending children to beg on the streets , we should never give money to children.

Yes, I would give money to beggars, especially in this economy, where people are losing jobs and homes. I've been in this situation myself, (although I've never asked for money, or anything, but people have given to me. I just try to stay out of th way and make money anyway I can, even online.) It really isn't my business what they do with it. I wouldn't give them anything I don't have though. I do understand that there are some people who just want to live off of the pockets of working people, but not all of us are like that. Some of the beggars are actually looking for some kind of work.

When I go to shopping,I often see beggars. If I have enough moneym,I will give them money,I think it is in our conscience to attack.DO you think so?In china ,A widening gap between rich and poor is very big. Some of them are flee from a calamity,or other reasons,we should give them a hand, because we are similar.we should have a heart of dedication.

The politcs of beggars is interesting. I never give to white beggars because I fill in my country for the most part they have been given all the opportunities. Of course their are exceptions but white begaars unless they are otherwise deformed dont get my money. There is a book called the wages of whiteness. College students were asked how much would it take for them to change from white to black and most said there was no price while others said a superhigh fee. Beggars are so numerous in Houston these days everytime you go the store it seems their there.I seldon give to beggars I work to hard to survive myself.

No, i think not. There is a saying that goes: Give them fish and they live for a day; teach them how to fish and they live for the rest of their lives. That rings true with money as well. And for those kids who ask for money (which we don't know what would they spend it for), is a different story. It's their parents responsibility to provide them with their basic needs. I belong to the younger generation, too, but i know very well how to provide for my own. Cheers to responsible independence, calyxus

I do give money to beggars sometimes. There is one who lives close by my street. He has an imaginary friend because he usually talks to himself. Sometimes I give a few dollars but I also give some fruits, too.

well some times its good to give some of them according to your feeling, I mean if you feel like giving, but if you dont feel like doing it please no need doing it . because some of them are really using this means to collect alot of money from poeple without work and this is really very bad for the society. this issue is all over the world poeple with complete body and no deformity begging for daily bread while others work thier life out to earn living at the end give it out to poeple begging from eventually everybody in the society and making more than everyone without sweat. but some times there are some poeple who really need this help so when you see them you might know and please dont stop giving its really Good.

well sometimes i do and sometimes i dont..it depends on how their physical condition is..i mean if i feel the person is an individual who can earn money by himself\herself by working i wouldnt definitely give any money cause such people are just lazy people..if they could work they would earn more rather than begging..but if its a physically challenged person i really would

There are a lot of beg gars here in our country. You can see them anywhere you look. Sometimes, I do feel pity for them and give them a penny. But of course, there's really no assurance where they will use that money. There are beggars, especially kids, who use the money for gambling.

I prefer giving food but I do give money when I see the beggar is really old. If they look like they could'nt find a job anymore.

You should always give money to a begger. You don't know where he or she has been that has put them so low that they have to beg you for money. People just don't understand how quickly life can change around. You can go from ballin to broke in a matter of a few weeks. Most people know what I am talking about. That's life and you have to swing with the punches and help other people along the way.

Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. It depends on my mood. In our country there are a lot of beggars mostly children. If you give them alms then they would be asking for it all their lives. However if you don't give them alms you wonder if they have already eaten or if they are thirsty and then I would feel guilty. Sometimes I ignore them because they can get pushy when asking for money.

it depends.I would give loose change or food to an older beggar.I pity old men and women who roam the streets without food.at their age, they should be at home.they shouldn't be out in the streets, asking for food or money.

I sometimes give them money because they need a way. Maybe they are lying but we cant really know. That is why I do not give large amounts of money. Maybe a couple of books but nothing over 2 or 3.

I would really prefer giving them food or buying them food right at that moment than giving them money. I hate keeping conditions but I agree with you. If you just keep giving them money they will look at begging as an easy alternative compare to working. You never really know what that money is used for. So I give money if I have to, to either old people or young children.

I give money to beggers sometimes only. In India there are lots of beggers on roadside and is really hard to make out who is really begger and which is not. Most of them are not beggers but behind the scene there are group of gang who is responsible for them to do. So inspite of giving them i gave either in the church or to those organisation for poor people who is genuine.

Beggars are a part of our society. So,I being a part of the society have a definite amount of responsibility for their welfare. It does not matter whether you help beggars in the form of cash or kind. The main thing is to have the heart for helping the helpless. If you have the heart to help the Beggars, that help will be paid back to you may be in some other way.
