I really love listening to them and I have one cd with about 15 of their songs on it. I listened to it three times tonight and I want more! What other music or groups or singers is similar to the Andrews Sisters that I can listen to?

Im back!! I cant answer your eexact question about the Andrews sisters, but I can tell you something about them. When my Mother was a child of about 3 yrs, her mother left home. Her father couldnt bring her (and 2 brothers ) up on his own, so he left my Mum temporaily with his neighbours. Guess who? Yes, it was the Andrews sisters. They looked after my Mum for months, & wanted to adopt her. But it was decided that she needed to be with her brothers, so Mum was sent to live with her Aunty, where her brothers were. I know this sounds far fetched, but it's quite true.

Oh my goodness! Ha it's a small world isn't it? Does/did your mother remember them singing at all? I guess she would have been a little young.

She was 3 years old so she doesnt remember anything. Her father told her about this many years later.

Any big band sounds, Bing Crosby, Glenn Miller, Watch the Movie 'Mr Holland's Opus', Frank Sinatra, Etta James (though she is from the 60's she does an excellent 40's sound)

i love the andrew sisters and that whole era of big band music. singers such as ella fitzgerald teamed up with big bands such as Tommy Dorsey. ah, those were the days for great music!
