Has anybody that has worked for work-online ever gone to site to see it say "There are currently no stories to write"? I never have and am curious if this happens often or if the web site may be in some kind of trouble? If you know anything about it, please fill me in..Thanks in advance J

I don't write on Work-Online anymore, but when I used to, I got that 'stories unavailable' sign a few times - sometimes for days, but stories would become available eventually. So, based on past experience, I don't think it's anything for you to worry about. They usually notify members when there are new stories to be written.

Hi browneyed. They have never notified me but I do go there and check when I have extra time. The .25 isnt all that attractive, especially when there are so many that pay better. These days I've been spending my time submitting names for websites and companies just starting out..You can make from 50.00 - 250.00 or more if the owner chooses the name you suggested plus its kind of fun. I have only been chosen for my entry once so far but keep plugging away at it. It only takes one hit a week to have a good payout..Thanks for your response..J

The site is not in trouble when you see that message. I've been writing there for months and it happens that there will be an extensive job list for awhile and then, one day, you will log in and it will tell you nothing is available. It's nothing to worry about... there is generally a listing again within a couple of days at most. Good luck to you! :)

I'm really glad to hear that. As I was saying to another MyLotter, I like to go there for writing practice. Wish they payed better cause I would spend a lot more time there if they did. I think its upsurd that you have to write 100 stories just to get to the .50 per payout..In any case, thanks for your post.

I agree... I'd love it if it paid better because writing fiction is so much easier for me than factual material (as I'm sure it is for many people). I'm glad to have the chance to get paid for fiction at all, though, since most sites don't accept it. When I first started with WorkOnline, the payment was 50p right off the bat... but, as we can all see by the explanation we get at log in, people naturally have to try to abuse a good thing and they had to reduce the compensation for the first tier down to 25p. It was disappointing but totally understandable... I'd rather see the site stay around than have to be shut down over those kinds of issues. *sigh*

Thank you very much, as well, for the kind consideration of BR :) It's definitely appreciated.

Hi, I personally think they are scam, as they charge you peanuts to write such a long article or story. I stopped months ago, and surprised they are still online. I am sure their main goal is to resell your articles for a better price, so I cans ay is reacdh the payout, cashout and never write for them again!

I actually think it's all relative, bluesinjid. I write there purely because they accept fiction and very few sites will. I have to do no research and I can write 400 words in a matter of minutes, if it's fiction and a topic that I know well. They accept anything as a story. There are no concerns about whether or not I write in first person POV either, for example... all I have to do is use the keywords and write a minimum of 400 words. I find it good for keeping my "on demand" writing skills current, too, when I don't have work elsewhere. Sure, the payment in the lower levels is small... but the exchange rate from GBP to CDN dollars is also very favorable. I waited to request payment until I had earned several times the minimum and I received it promptly. That doesn't qualify as a scam to me. If I did the work and was not paid, sure, that's a scam. But choosing to do writing jobs that are easy and I can crank out quite a few in a very short timeframe is fine with me when I happen to have that time available. I'd much rather be steadily increasing my online income, even by smaller amounts, than just killing time surfing the web and earning nothing. I guess it's all about perspective and personal tolerance level
