Yes,Dravid is the capable batsman to stay for hours in ground in the test matches when India needs him. He plays many balls and scores many runs, tries to keep his wicket throughout the day and help India to stand in a good position.

Many names come to mind but I think of the current young lot C Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Tanmay Shrivastav are some of the gemsthat we have to carry on the torch of playing long innings. I think Ajinkya Rahane is one of the brightest among these players. He had a brilliant Ranji season last year and sows a lot of promise with his talent and concentration. C. Pujara had almost made it to the Indian team couple of seasons back. He too has excellent ability to play long innings even when he doesn't get much support from the other end of the wicket. I would love to see more young talents come up and take the slots that the greats of Indian cricket will leave behind. I am sure it is impossible to replace a Sachin or a Dravid but I am sure new kids will make their own space and a time will come when these greats will not be missed anymore.
