I have been learnning English in a institute.I love it ,it's a very beautiful language with strong sense of rhythm.American English is much popular than British English in China, but many people consider that British English better to listen to.But for me,I prefer to American English.I think it much more clear and lively. What do you think about this?

I love both of them but i perfer to speak American English cause since i learning english, all the books records or videos are or American English. But i think British Enghish is more graceful,it's quite elegant. It is mostly efflunced by their culture, for British is a country which with a very long and vigorous history, most of them are from noble families ,so their language are obviously more noble. And in the meanwhile ,American is just a young country and most of Americans are just people from other continent and rrom every lever,so their language is more relax.

As a Briton I was very interested to read your view of my country. We certainly have had a long and vigourous history which has had a huge influence on the language, but I had to smile at your "most of them are from noble families." One of my very distant ancestors might have been a king, but most people are no more noble than anyone else. I've never thought of English as being graceful and elegant either, but I thank you for your kind remarks.

I prefer American English, it's simpler and the american voice is softer than the British. That helps me to get rid of many pronounciation errors.

It's a fact that American English is much more popular than British English in China. The reason is very simple. USA is the only superpower in the world and exports its culture to many countries. Each year we could watch many American movies in the cinema or at home, while only a few British movies are available here. So we are more accustomed to American English. Personally speaking, I prefer British English English to American English. In my view, British English reflects the classic culture of Britain, which attract me a lot.
