I come across a discussion created one year ago. I don't know if it is good to answr the this discussion. Will my response come too late for the discussion. Will the discussion creator comments back to my response? Anywhere, I did response to the said discussion as I have something want to say and share on the discussion. How about you? Do you like to response on old discussion or new discussion. How old discussion have you response before?

Hi vingyan, I like visiting the profile of the members who have responded to my discussions in return. I usually will pick the discussion which interest me and never bother about whether the discussion is a year old or years old topics. Sometime when browsing around here hunting for topics I'm interested, I do will answer those old discussions which are really interest Since all the old discussions are still available here, sounds that they are still safe and valid for us to answer. What’s more I did read a statement in the regulation here before, saying that we are paid for every activity participated here. Therefore I pick only discussions which are interesting that I have opinion and idea to share with the creators, regardless whether the discussions are old Have a nice day and happy posting

Hi Ikbooi, Thanks for your response. Sometimes, I did visit back the members who had give response to my discussion. This is a way for me to get discussions to response too. But I hardly go to dig out their old discussions. It is no harm for us to response old discussions anywhere. Happy mylotting!

I have sometimes responded to discussions that are a year or more old. There's no reason not to, if one has something worthwhile to add to the discussion. Of course, the person who started the discussion may have long since left MyLot but I don't think that matters. What's important is what you have to say in the discussion.

Hi Owlwings, Thanks for your response! True enough, as long as we have something to say about the discussion, we should go ahead for it, the old or new discussion does not mean anything special. I just get this thinking just now, if Mylot still keeping the one year old discussion here, meaning to say the discssion is still available for discuss, !

vingyan06 I don't mind one year but wont respond to the three year ones as I think a lot of people may not be here anymore. So I stick to the one year ones and do make comments on those I am interested in.

I've responded to discussions that were a year old or more. I don't expect a response though but I don't think it's too late to respond to them, either. I think what matters is the quality of your post, not so much of the date the discussion was started.

Old is gold. Some old things are better than the new ones

to me every mylot discussion is always young and evergreen. so I'm used to participant on any discussion and respond. i don't give extra preference, what about it new or old. both are in same value, which one very recent and which one i raised or replied before.

I have responded back to old discussions as I am now. I have people who have helped get one of my older discussions moving again as well many times. I think personally it is never too late to respond back to a discussion. You never know if it might actually spark a response back and get that discussion moving again from others as well.

Yesterday I came across a discussion that was three years old, and since it looked interesting to me, I responded to it. As far as I am concerned, available discussions may be interesting, regardless of how old they are. They may pop up at the top of an interest, or my "discussions I've responded to" after I've responded, and someone new will discover the discussion and revive it again. :)

If I have something different to contribute in a discussion than what has already been said, I won't hesitate to participate, no matter how old the discussion may be. The way I see it, even if the original poster is no longer around, there may be other myLot members who are still interested in discussing the topic. They may have joined recently, for example, and never had a chance to participate when it was originally created. There is always someone around with whom we can have a good, ongoing conversation... one of the best things about being here :)

Oh, Yes. I have responded to discussions posted more than a year ago. But I have not received any comments from them. May be they are not active any more.

It's actually one of the tips given to me when I was just starting, that is to respond to previous discussions, what the heck I've even responded to a 3 year old topic and was able to get a response from the person who created the discussion. If you take a closer look there are discussions that started a couple of years ago but still keep receiving comments simply because the discussion is good. I feel silly at first responding to old topics but I realized that those are very good topics and I just feel that I have to share my opinion about it and earn in the process. I'm sure you would not mind either if you receive a respond to a discussion that you started years back but instead feel happy about it considering that there are still people who find time to respond to your discussion no matter how old it is. Cheers!
