What are your thoughts on the Westboro Baptist Church?

Do you think that their website godhatesfags.com is ok? Do you think it's right they protest at soldiers funerals? Do you think it's right that they were going to protest at the funerals of the slain Amish girls? Do you think they exhibit any of the fruitages of the spirit?
I think they are a bad example of Christianity. I think they violate a lot of the laws of the Bible. They are not mild. They lack self control. They are acting as judges when that is God's alone. I think their protests are disrespectful. I think they are domestic terrorists, and if they protested at the funeral of someone I know - they would get hurt.

I totally agree with you. I don't know anything about this group but from the looks of it they give christianity a bad name. God is the altimate judge. Judging them makes us just as bad as they are. We have to show love no matter the circumstances no matter how rediculous people behave. Maybe they just need someone to show them love that way they can know what love truely is. God is love.

Wow!! How Honestly anyone who considers themselves a Baptist would want to admit it now with all the Bad publicity this group is portraying. I look and view them and their ideas though, as something of a Cult, and feel there is NO way they are standing for anything such of a Christian nature or in the Bible. They are truly a BAD example of Christianity, and why be against the Soldiers? There are many who might not be for the War going on in Iraq right now, but this does not mean we should blame the Soldiers, and hate them. They are there to protect and serve, and where would we be without them.
In my opinion, groups and Cults like this are only bringing to light more and more the soon coming of Christ again just as prophesied in the Book of Revelations, and we all need to be ready.

Those ppl are a total trip!! I came across their site a few months back and I was totally floored!! They rank right up there with Tammy Ritchie who had a website called Perilous Times..she was a psycho wingnut too..Westboro though has her beat by a long shot though simply because they are an actual church rather than jsut an online lunatic with a website....
How they manage to get away with it all is beyond me because IMO they are the WORST kind of Christian and humans by far...I'm all for the whole U.S "freedom of speech" thing but there has to be a line drawn somewhere IMO..

I think they are a perfect example of people that shouldn't procreate. This "church" is made up mostly of one family and their relatives, am I right? They are absolutely ridiculous in my book. I'm an atheist and I don't hate people of any religion but these people really strike a nerve with me.
