what kind of children's books? Little children's books or somewhat older children's books? Here's a few lists... for young children/picture books http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caldecott_Medal and for older children... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newbery_Medal

Thank the American Library Association for picking them and the Library School for educating me so I know about them.

I like Whittington. It is the story of a very special cat. I like historical novels, but this one has just the right mixture of fantasy and fact to be interesting. It is supposed to be a kids book, but I know some adults who love it too. I am certainly one of them.

Anything by Judy Blume is great. I also absolutely loved Sideways Stories from Wayside school by Louis Sachar. The Hank the Cowdog series is great too. The Ramonas series and Junie B Jones are very popular with my daughter who is 6.

Well, one of the best children's books come from the Harry Potter series, if you like fantasy and magic and all that stuff. I also recommend the Eragon series from Christopher Paolini. Then there are the famous ones like Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew, filled with mystery and investigation. I also loved reading Enid Blyton's books when I was young, like The Famous Five, Adventurous Four, etc.
