So i was recently on ebay and found an item that i really like and it says 10 items in stock and each costs $48.99 after that i then surfed online and found his original site which is selling the same exact item but at half the price and then it says OUT OF STOCK! this has me so damn pissed that i dont think i can ever buy from anyone who hordes items just to jack up the price. This is so criminal and is actually illegal. What do you think?

Well actually this has been happening for a long time now with many things. If you remember the Beanie Babies I can remember picking some of these up when they first hit the stores, etc. and then making over double on them, and if you had some of the older ones, you could make even better $$ from them. Same with a lot of the other items out there that have been considered collectable over the yrs. as well. It is just something I am sure that will continue to happen actually for many yrs. to come. Yes, it may not always seem fair, but in reality most things are really priced at what others are willing to pay. Look around the different stores in person... you will find the same item at various prices there as well.

I think you're saying that you found where this guy ordered the items from and that it's out of stock there, right? I would say wait for the original item to come back in stock...it's in the interests of the original site to keep its customers happy and put more items up for sale, and the more items floating around, the lower the price will fall. I don't fault this guy for trying to make a profit, even by hoarding (maybe it's what he does for a living), but I think he'll fail unless he's selling an item that really is worth paying so much more for. I know I would have to be really, really crazy about something to pay double the price.

Well, each seller can propose different prices fro the same items. It's not a cpeculation as long as you still can find this item at another store, and you're not forced to buy this stuff. It's unfair, I hate it also, but in my country, it's not illegal.
