does it absolutely have to be dry cleaned? i wore it as a top in an outfit and i had partied all night so it didnt get anything spilled but it got sweaty so obviously i have to wash it but my sinks are small and its a boned corset so i would have to bend it and stuff to get it to fit and then i still wouldnt feel like it was good and cleaned.. do i have to take it to a dry cleaners? can i get away with hand washing it if i use a sink big enough? should i soak it? should i use woolite? im at a loss here.. its my first one i have owned so i have never ran into this prob before

It should have a label on it to tell you how to clean it. If not, I don't think that hand washing it in Woolite would hurt. Do you have a large bucket or any other container large enough to hold it? You could soak it in that, then rinse it in the sink or bathtub. As a matter of fact, you could run a couple of inches of water in your bathtub and soak it in that with some Woolite. Other than that, I'd say it wouldn't hurt to take it to the cleaners, other than the cost. Personally, I'd try any way I could to hand wash it. (I'm cheap. LOL)

tub would be the only option but i would have no idea how much woolite to put in then lol.. im picturing me adding too much and having bubbles everywhere..

I would think you'd be using maybe twice as much water as in a sink, so use twice as much Woolite. Of course, with me being so cheap, I'd probably wait until I had a few garments to wash along with the corset so I wouldn't be wasting Woolite. LOL

Have you tried getting a Dryel kit to use in your dryer? Dryel is a cheap, reusable home dry cleaning kit that you can use in your dryer.

I don't see the problem with hand washing it. It depends on if there is any beading or other type of decoration on it but handwash it and let it dry in the shade.

there is lace trim but that shouldnt be a problem and of course the ties/string things but no beading

either dry clean, or place it in one of those small bags and wash it on gentle and cold cycle and then air dry it, or hand wash it with woolite. i think corsets are like bras, made with delicate material.

I would say it should be fine if you hand-wash it in woollite. Some dry cleaners don't even CLEAN corsets, because they consider it "lingerie" and that's taboo for some cleaners (I actually work at one..So I would know.) Woollite is a godsend. I'm sure that would work fine for you.

You could always try the dry cleaners, but it works just as well washing it by hand yourself. I have a black corset that I've worn a few times...simply get a little woolite or other soft fabric soap and wash it in the sink or bathtub. The fabric is thin, so there isn't really a need to soak it. It works best if you can lay it flat to dry. Definitely avoid the dryer. Make sure you rinse it properly...or the soap can irritate your skin.
