I sleep very soundly except for the light. Even a little bit of light will wake me, but as soon as it is put out, then I go right back to sleep. If there is noise when I am awake, I will not fall asleep until it is quiet, but then once I am asleep the house could fall down and I would not hear it. But once when a burglar came to the window, ever so quietly I woke up and went and chased him away. I have a sixth sense for that sort of thing, and for a baby crying, but I can sleep through thunderstorms and cars on the highway and everything else.

i am a horribly light sleeper and i wake up even at the slightest noise. i dont get the really deep restorative sleep that one needs to feel rested in the morning.

Wow, so a slightly noise might wake you up in the middle of night. I simply hate that too. I want a good, peaceful sleep at night time. I won't want anybody to bother me at all.

Light does not bother me. One can keep the lights on and read a book in my room but I will sleep well. But even slightest noise will make me awake. I think my ears are very sharp. My daughter, when going out of station for the early morning flight, does not want to wake me up as I will make coffee for her. She does not want to disturb my sleep. She will close my room door and goes to bath. But the water sound, though the bath room door is closed and my room door is closed, will reach my ear and I will get up. My cat goes out at 4.00 AM and comes back at 6 or 6.30 AM. She calls with her minute voice from outside my main door. Though I am sleeping in the first floor room, I can hear it and I open the door for it. My husband is sleeping very next to the main door. But he cannot hear.

I am a light sleeper, always have been, but especially since I became a mother 22 years ago. If my children's breathing changed in the night, I woke up! I'm still a light sleeper. I have a sister that is a heavy sleeper. She woke if her kids needed her but not for the alarm clock. The police broke into her house one morning years ago when a neighbor called because of the noise of her alarm. They saw her on the floor (sleeping) and thought there was something wrong, she was so embarrassed!

I might wake up if someone shout at me near my ear, or someone shine on me with a lamp. I can't say I am a heavy sleeper, but my sleep order will be affected. Even when I place the cell phone near me, when the phone rings, I will wake up immediately.
