Paranormal activity, do you believe that story?

Some credit claims it to be base on a true story, but after I watch that whole movie, I had some doubt on it. Even my friend too. Do you believe the entire movie is base on a true story? Or it was just a movie with some special effect added to it? It is low budget movie, and it was on the top rank of box office.

This is a movie with special effects. I isn't really a videotape that was found in that house or something.
It is possible that this movie is based on a "true story", but I don't know that for sure because I'm not such into the paranormal etc.

My friend also commented on it, it was used some special effect to make it scary. And I am not sure whether that is a true story or not though.

I don't remember they ever claimed it's based on a true story.
