98 billion. Wow. That money could have gone a long way to paying off the national debt. But oh no...our government wasted it. To be fair, it was a 26 billion dollar increase over last year.. You do the math boys and girls..they wasted 72 billion last year. I wonder how much the year before. Heck if they stop wasting it we could be out of debt in just a few years. Imagine that.
THink about that nex time they ask for a tax hick to pay for ANYTHING. They don't need more money from us, not another dime....they need to use the money they already get from us more wisely. It is nice that they SEEM to be doing something about it. And sense that is that case...they should not be asking us for one additional dime sence the will have all this money (not wasted) to put toward actually running this country.
Here is the report on it

What do you think about this? Does it make sense to raise taxes on anyone when they waste money on such a large scale this way?

I seem to remember something about toilet seats and hammers under a different administration many years ago. There is a problem with waste in our government, I'm not disputing that, but the real problem is the lack of oversight.

Hi spalladino...I think we are close in age? I can from earliest memory remember hearing how government spending was wasteful. I think the toliet seat and hammer issue came up when my kids were young..in the late 70's?

I agree btw...oversite is the issue. I would have problems in that department too...over spending money that is not your own and you didn't have to sweat to earn is a temptation.

And yet the second a conservative suggests cutting costs to fund a VA healthcare bill he gets demonized by the left. Are you aware that just the amount you mentioned would be enough to buy gold plated insurance policies for every single uninsured citizen of this country? Frankly, even a third of that money could insure the uninsured, but Obama doesn't want you to know that or it would get in the way of wasting trillions on the public option garbage he wants so badly.

You are sooo right. Too bad the press is not pointing that out to the public.

Oh, it makes perfect sense, if you're trying to destroy the country.

Exactly.
Heaven forbid they use common sense.
I hope the general public stands up for themselves. This is outragous.
