I use AVG because it is good in detecting viruses and deleting them and it does not slow down my computer compared to Norton and McAffee that consume much of my computer's resources.

i use to have exactly the same problem as you. I use AVG an excellent program to protect from virus but not too great for protecting against trojans and malwares. If you want to remove trojon download trojan guarder. Its a really good program for removing trojans and it scans really fast. Also makes your computer really fast. Some famous programs you can use Mcafee and Norton which are updated daily and work great. Right now i am trying out new program called a-squared which is good for making your computer faster. good luck

hi, Any anti-virus whether it is Norton,Kaspersky,Mcfee,AVG will not perform good untill and unless it is regularly updated. I use Kaspersky and previously i used Macfee but i never observed any unique performance in any one of them. Due to regular update your antivirus software database is updated with new virus which can be deteched if found. If not updated regularly new virus may not be deteched by your antivirus software...that is. What ever be your system configuration you need to have antivirus software so there is no point in discussing disadvantages. Some systems definetely slow down if you install Norton 360 antivirus, I have used this and then due to slow performance of my Pc uninstalled it. I also advice you that only antivirus can not fight with different types of malicious programs which are transferred to you Pc through internet. So try to install total internet security programs like Norton internet security.I am using Kaspersky internet security and regularly updating it..till now my system never faced any problem due to virus or trojan etc...

I recommend Kaspersky Internet Security as a replacement to your antivirus. Kaspersky Internet Security includes Anti-virus, Anti Spyware and most of all, Internet Security. Unlike with anti-viruses like AVG, Kaspersky removes threats automatically while surfing or downloading. It's the best that I recommend for you. For me, the disadvantage will be the less knowledge of the user. It recommends at least you know how to set its configuration to view some not viewable objects in your browser. As what I've experience before, I've encountered a problem that I can't view some banners on some websites. The best way to solve some problems like this is to review the kaspersky's tools. It can also block a specific websites for your kids with password protection(if you already have kids).

I dont think theres 100% perfect antivirus program. I do, however, recommend norton because it's the best I've tried so far.

I agree, there is no 100% perfect anti virus, each has it's own pros and cons, it's a matter of choosing which one has the least cons and for me, based on my experience, it's Kaspersky Internet Security edition, although it's not free, i think it's worth of what you'll be paying for, what you can do for now is try to search all the the top five antiviruses out there based on reviews then personally try them by downloading their free trial edition, I'm sure most of these top anti viruses has it's free trial edition then personally judge for yourself who really is doing it's job in giving you the best security for these viruses.

I use NOD32, the latest version. I spend a lot of time on the Internet, I open hundreds of sites daily, but since I bought Nod I didn't catch any trojans. Each time a virus attacks my computer, the anti virus lets me know that there was a threat but it was taken care of. I do a daily scan, at the end of the day, just to double check
