Bank Fraudsters

Just how careless and gullible can you get? No offense, but if the above were not rampant then I am sure the ignorant here would not be loosing their millions in the bank. Financial Fraud Action UK has disclosed that of late householders especially pensioners and Asian communities are being targeted by fraudsters who pretend to be from their credit card company, bank or police, saying they've seen a fraudulent transaction. They are then asked to write down their PIN, put it in an envelope with their credit or debit cards and wait for it to be collected. A genuine courier, who does not realize what they are handling, is being sent to pick it up. Fraudsters then make withdrawals from cash machines with these cards and PINS. Has anyone in UK experienced this? If not, you may just likely be the next potential victim, so do be careful before you loose your hard earned life savings. Hey Sky, People are so desparate that they can't see past the fraud. Ignorance is no excuse. If this happens to you, there are thousands of Mylot members that would gladly explain that it's a fraud and illegal for any bank or anyone to ask for your pin or any other info that they can use to take your identity. I've gotten to the point that if any one calls here, supposedly for my benefit, and they ask me to verify information that they should already have, I just tell them that I don't give infor on the phone unless I'm the one who called them. BE CAREFUL PEOPLE!!! These are very scay times. Leenie

leenie50, Frankly, I just felt that the banking institutions are just not doing enough to protect their customers especially the aged pensioners and migrants. Their ignorance is just inevitable when these institutions do not educate enough. Both these categories have adaptation problems with the latest developments of scam thefts and frauds. In my country, our banks are ever updating us through their online banking sites and personal tellers when they attend us. Also, the mailers as well telling us to report fraudulent calls and emails. I must say that these fraudsters are ever coming with more new ideas and methods, that we just have to be on our toes at all times. Take care and have a nice day.
