Watch is actually a necessity for people, nowadays. For some people, they can't live without a watch. Not only because people are time-consious, but also, their body and mind has been set with the importance of having one in their daily life. My husband gave me a CK watch before, which I am wearing right now. This christmas, I am thinking of giving my father and mother a watch. So I want to have an idea of what brand is good for them. So maybe, you can also give some suggestions with regards to this.

I am also fond of watches but i only have 10 pieces. They are not so expensive, most are Citizens and i have 1 Seiko brand and 2 are Anne Klein. I love small wrist watches and it is part of my jewelry. I value time a lot so i cannot be comfortable without a watch. At home i always see to it that i have a wall clock. For a gift to your father, maybe a Tag Huer is good.

Well, i did not buy all those watches, some were gifts and they are not the so expensive kind.Honestly, i love collecting watches. I also have a daughter whom i share my watches with. She loves changing her watches everyday, but i don't allow her to wear the more expensive ones. Maybe i have influenced her.

Hello, triplejazzm51! Wow, 10 watches are a lot! That's awesome! So you must be changing your watch everyday or depending on the occasion you are going to? I think, I will also collect watches from now on. Hahah! I already bought a Casio watch for my father and a Citizen watch for my mother. They are not too expensive and I really liked them both. I knew, my parents would like them. Thank you for your response with this topic.

Yes,Borhan…the TATAs are really the pride of India. Titan watches are very durable and the range is just amazing, there’s one for everyone for every budget. The range you’re talking about is Sonata…it is also by Titan. Yes, Titan has the world’s slimmest watch too! Balu, I too use a Titan watch and a Timex watch…Timex watches I think are no longer available in India but they are very very sturdy.

Dear madam, Watch can be worth 1 dollar and can be 300,000 dollars. If you can tell me about how much you are going to spend,I waill respond you question.A new watch is far cheaper than an old one. On christmas try to offer something of class if your pocket permits.

Hello, ghulamnabi45! Yes, it depends upon my budget. Hahah! I just want something that is not too expensive, but with nice designs and styles. Simplicity and durability are important also. I already found what I think are best for them. Thank you to you and to other users of Mylot who helped me out and gave me some ideas on choosing a watch. Happy Mylotting!

I currently have a rolex (and a cheapy citizen watch) which I treated myself to a few years ago, but in answer to your question I very rarely wear it or even a watch when I was younger I always had a watch on. But in the modern day my mobile doubles as a watch so there is no need for a wrist watch anymore. Over the coming years I think fewer people will wear watches.

Hello, benny128! Oh, you have a rolex. That's expensive, right? And by the way, citizen is not cheapy. Yes, there is a high tendency that more people will use mobile phones instead of wrist watches in the coming years. But I think, there is still a need for wrist watch and there still be more innovative watches. People will invent and develop high tech watches, so even there are mobile phones, consumers will surely aim to have watches for themselves and loved ones. Thank you for your response to this topic.

Hello, nimaro! I was also using my cellphone as a watch before. But when I got a real watch, it changed everything. It was easier for me to look at the time on my watch rather than on my cellphone. So now, I prefer to have a real watch aside from my cellphone. Thank you for your response!

I'm wearing Cartier. My husband gave it to me on my birthday 3 yrs ago. It's surprisingly light and never gets tarnished. A lot of people depends on their cellphones for checking out the time but not me. I can hardly see the time on my cellphone. lol I guess i'm just not a cellphone person.

Hello, Gicolet! Thank you for your response! Yes, for me, I also depend on my watch whenever I look for the time. I'm a time conscious, so it is very important for me to have one in my wrist. I'm not complete without my watch.

Hello, neelimaravi! We are lucky to have our hubbies. And yes, Titan is a good brand, too. And because your watch is coated with gold, that must be expensive, right? Have a wonderful day, too! :)

The brand of the watch I am wearing is SKIN. It doesn't have any numbers or hands. And come to think of it, it doesn't have any strap either! Just kidding! I have stopped wearing watches, because I became sensitive on how heavy they are on one hand. I am just using my cellphone to tell time.

Hello, bounce58! Hahah! I was lost on your first two sentences. You are funny.. Okey, watches can be heavy sometimes, but there are light ones that you can choose. However, the price for them must be not so light for the pocket.

My brother bought me a Swatch as gift when he went on a business trip to Switerland. I like it very much. While ever before I didn't think that watch meant something to one's identity or position.I ever heard that many people regard watch embodies one's social rank.

Hello, smilejanica! Swatch is a good brand though expensive. :) Yes, we can now distinguish one's social rank through the brand of things they have, such as watch for example. The expensive ones are usually for people in the upper class society who can afford those luxurious brands. Hope that those big companies create watches with an affordable prices. Lols!

I have two watches…one was a wedding gift and another was a gift from my insurance agent. Both have golden bands and both are running perfectly for the past 10 to 12 years…even the colours on the band have remained in good condition. One of the watches is Timex and the other is Titan. Citizen and Seiko are good international brands you can go for.

Hello, sudiptacallingu! Thank you for your response. I agree with you that Timex and Titan are good brands of watches, as well as citizen and seiko. By the way, it is good to know what watches you have and how long you have had them. It is amazing that they lasts for 10-12 years. That's worth the money if for example I will buy those brands. :) Have a wonderful day!

I use Casio watch, because it's fashionable and match with me who like sport activity. But if you want to give the watch to your parent, it's better if you give them Alba, DKNY or Swiss watch. It's stylish and look professional especially for for mature people.
