It was that time of the year about a month ago. Kids from all over the neighborhood and my grandsons knocking on the door selling various items for school. The photo here shows what I bought from the neighbor girl. Peppermint Bark candy, and Peppermint Creme Chocoaltes. I bought magazines and flower bulbs from the grandsons. Each year I make sure to buy the Peppermint Bark as it is one of my faves around the Holidays. By the way, the candy has been gone a long time ago. Did you buy anything from kids during their sales this year? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I dont know about these school sales? Is it fund raising for their school? We are not allowed to do that here. Schools do fund raising, but kids are not allowed to go around door to door selling things. Most opf our school fund raising would be fetes. At Biancas school they have uniform free day, pay $2.00 for this, & that helps with fund raising.

Yeah it's a fund raiser deal. The kids are encouraged not to go door to door. With a parent or responsible adult yeah. But they do it anyhow. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Savanna - Such a doll isn't she?
I too am not here as often as previously. I started 5 discussions today and it's been awhile since I did that. I may do 10 or so a month as of late. Not the same here anymore. I used to get 50 and more responses and am lucky now to get 20 if that many. Here's a more recent photo of my Princess Savanna. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Mom tell you we didnt get your order. For some reason yours and Dianes was never ordered. I tried calling them but could not get thru so I sent an email so now I am just waiting on a response. I am betting they are pretty darn busy this time of the year.

My dad has a soft heart. And I think every kid in our church knows that. He ended up buying cookie dough, sausages, candy...and he didn't keep any of it. When his orders came in he just gave away what he had bought from the kids to other people. It drives my mom nuts. She wishes he could say no every once in a while. And it would be better for them financially if he did, but like I said, he's got a soft heart.

Luckily, no one's come round yet this year. I say "luckily" because I can't always afford to buy the stuff.

Most items are especially outrageously high priced. Mostly the wrapping papers are too high priced. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

My kids also just came home with their school items but we are fortunate enough to be the only kids in the block so we didn't get hit up by any other children although my kids hit up all the other neighbors LOL. I didn't buy anything from the kids school just because both of my kids are in scouts and it is also that time of year for all of the popcorn and nuts sales and we had just ordered a bunch from that, we normally due the after holiday sales like fruit snacks only because that movie is more used towards that field trips and such. They also do coupons every year where you get a coupon book full of coupons to be used for local businesses I like this one more than the christmas item just because I know it will be used more

The town we used to live in long time ago had schools that did that with the coupons except they were credit card type with business logos on them. Just go to the listed business and present the card for their specials and they would scan it. I used to always buy multiples of those cards. Wish my daughter's schools would do that.

So THAT's why you been so quiet, Grandpa Bob. Too busy eating all that candy. LOL Since my daughter is school-age, I buy from her only. So far this year it's been cookie dough, Christmas items, fruit (10-lb. bag of oranges and a box of approx. 40 tangelos). Since she's in GS again this year, will be buying their cookies as well come Jan. My daughter's present school doesn't do the magazines and I totally forgot to catch one of the other neighbor kids whose several years younger for the magazines. I ALWAYS renew my subscriptions through them but now gonna have to go through the magazines themselves. Sucks cause renewing through the school helps them out.

Hi Grandpa Bob YOu know some enterprising kids could make a fortune selling candy and magazines here at Gold Crest, most of us buy just those things we go out on our shopping mornings but I think they have a sign no salespeople or solicitors. too bad as the kids would have a ball selling Peppermint Bark Candyand pepperming creme chocolates too. wow. I have not seen peppermint bark in ages, used to be one of my faves too.
