As we see, Sangakkara has a more defensive field placedfor his bowlers. this gives an impression that Sangakkara has already resigned to the fate of this match. Even he believes there is not much in this wicket to signl a victory if he attacks more. The only result could be heavy scoring by Indian Batsmen. The fact that Indian batsmen are playing every ball so cautiously should prompt Sangakkara to have a more attacking field as an overcautious approach usually results in amictake by the batsman sooner or laer. But also if he attcks toomuch and gives indian batsmen a chance to ge out of the shackles then it would be impossible to stop themconsidering that the ones waiting in the pavelion are Laxman, Yuvraj and Dhoni. I believe if Sangakkara can get Sachin he can think of attacking more. What do you all feel?

You r right... Sangakkara is very defensive in his approach... In these type of situations we need a captain like Sourav Ganguly... who can forget the famous Kolkata test against Australia where India have taken the Australian line up with just 2 sessions... Even Murali can't do his magic on Indians... he is more formidable against the likes of England, New Zealand & West Indies players who are not very good players of spin... This match is heading for a dull draw... the only highlight being Sachin's century on the last day... This little man is rewriting history... Great going Sachin...

I agree with you about sourav being the right captainfor such occasions but apart from that I dont agree with you on what you say about Murali. Murali has been successful against Indians too. He is not like shanewarne who though being the greatest leg spinner ever could never really trouble indians but murali has been really good against Indians, especially while playing in Srilanka. Also about Sachins century being highlight of the day I guess Gambhir's century was more important than sachins. being an opener Gambhir had the responsibility to set the tone of the innings.A couple ofwickets at the beginning of the innings or in the morning of the last days play would havet added pressure on the batting lineup.I think sachins century was really no big deal since he had no pressure on him to play out the last two sessions and scoring a century at a strike rate of less than 50 should be one of the least interesting innings played by him.

Yes Sri Lanka needs a very attacking field. Sri Lankan captain Sangakkara is very defensive and his teammates also. And so India takes that opportunity and puts more and more runs on the board through this defensive kind of fielding. In the upcoming test match, Sri Lanka needs much more aggressive and attacking in form to do better.
