How to add Affiliation on your particular site

I own a poker related site and want to add affiliation on my site. Client gave me coding to add affiliation on my site but i was not able to do it correctly. If you have any idea please suggest me how can i add affiliation programs on my site.

If they give you some code implement it in your website somewhere in the body on a place that stands out, if it is a banner that is, if it's just a tracking code you can place it anywhere in the body.
If it is a blogger blog or such you can as well add it as widget.

Dear he gave me code but as i pasted it on anywhere in body but did not work. Do i need to use any type of script or anything?
