Who do you think should be on magazine covers?

Do you think the "cover girl" should be an athlete, a business woman, a large-sized (bigger than size 10) woman, a non-caucasian woman, someone who is nude, wearing a bikini, or showing her abs? Do you think the media portrays women on magazines in a negative way?

gq cover of tom cruise - GQ cover of tom cruise
I'll say it depends on the magazine.. business mags it wil help if a successful business person (male/female) in on the cover.. swimsuit.. women of various sizes, smal,l medium & plus, because not all women have a body like a model.. fitness.. a good athlete with a good body.. for men.. either a sexy woman or a succesful celebrity.. cars.. well cars of course!

That's a great CQ cover! :) I like Tom Cruise a lot, he's so cute. I think you have a point, not all magazines are the same, so different pictures for different magazines. I think they should have more realistic looking models on fitness mags, though, it's really discouraging when I get my copy of Fitness or Shape and there's some size 2 woman on there, who I will NEVER look like in a million years.

I agree! There's no way I'll ever be a size 6 - I'll be lucky if I can get down to a 10 or 12 (think I'm 14/16 now). It's frustrating when I see these super skinny models on my diet and fitness mags, b/c it's like "what's the point?" I'm never going to look like that!

Whichever sells the magazine best. And, unfortunately, that's going to always be the professional model.
