Murder and sentencing.

Years ago, someone is murdered in Texas by a passenger shooter. The shooter gets life imprisonment but the driver gets a death sentence. The driver, a man with a lengthy criminal history, claims up to his death that he had no knowledge of the shooter's intentions. I did a little research but came up with no justification for the driver getting a death sentence (or maybe someone out there has more knowledge than I do regarding this case). This is the case of Robert Lee Thompson, executed in Texas on November 19, 2009.

The Texas state parole board voted 5-2 to change the sentence to life imprisonment. Perry had to approve it, but he chose not to. You can thank our wing-nut secessionist governor for cruel and unusual punishment. Leave the rest of us Texans out of it.

Amazing what you learn when you look at the fact isn't it? That's why I never make extensive judgments on these things until checking for myself what REALLY happened. Good job Latrivia!

I don't know why I responded before I research. I'm normally very good about fact checking. Oh well - at least I figured out who he was talking about.

Wait, isn't he the same guy who admitted to being the gunman in two other crimes?

That's Texas for you. That's probably why they don't have state income tax; they just kill as many law breakers as they legally can, even those with mental deficiencies. The shooter just had a better lawyer.

You know, there are some people who have expressed same view as you about the sentencing. It is very sad to know that the judicial system can so biased and so callous towards the poor.

Netsbridge is a liar. Both men shot the poor victim. The guy who just got executed also killed 3 other people, but you won't see Netsbridge mention that.
