I think a good way would be to reward yourself. Every half an hour I study, I give myself 15 minutes of computer time (my friend award herself with Skittles so if you have a sweet tooth, you might want to try that). As for cleaning, maybe you can ask you mom to give you a monetary reward for that :)

are you overweight? if yes, I think that is the most big motivation. I love doing homework and cleaning, for I think I need to do something to release fat, also to make myself vive, but not just sitting or sleepint. do something will also make you have achievability, more happier.

To me, you should think the perfect and ideal life in world. Then, you will think how you can do to obtain this life. I am sure you will be motivated to do all the mountainous homework and cleaning, after doing these, you can enjoy what form of activities you like. Therefore, you not only become a independent people, but you can also be the role model to your friends--affecting others to same like you.. good luck !!!!

I used to have such a similar situation when I lived away from my family. But now, through my own efforts, I have accustomed to doing some homework everyday. In my eyes, before you are ready to do homework, you'd better make a detailed plan which contain all steps of cleaning. You know, if you want to motivate yourself to do more homework and cleaning, a plan is really a necessity. Wish you success.

Motivating yourself is a good one! I don't want to call myself lazy. I think that I am working. But I am lazy. Because maybe I should do more chores, instead of be on MyLot so much. But MyLot is like therapy for me. I have gone through some things, and writing helps me manage my thoughts. So I guess I have to let myself do this. But it couldn't hurt to do laundry. I think that chores help clean the house. A clean house reflects you. And you can feel good about yourself. A dirty house is not so good because it can make you sick. Get yourself motivated by having someone work with you! Also talk while working. Find out about their lives, and tell them what's going on in yours. You can also form opinions while doing this, and learn more about yourself. You have to motivate yourself or you will crumble and die. Get going. If you have problems then be patient and address them. It can be hard to work if there's something insane going on in the front of your mind.

Oh gosh, that's a toughie for me. I'm SO lazy. I used to work at a hospital as the 'cleaning lady' and I HATED IT! Never again will I clean for a job... Anyway, I've always had the problem of cleaning my room, doing laundry, etc. because I just 'didn't feel like it' or 'I could do it later'. Until my room got SO bad that it would take me hours to clean it. After that happened I found a good way to motivate myself to clean. I say: "It's either one hour now, or seven hours next week! Take your pick." And that usually gets me up off my butt to clean. Same with homework, for me anyway. I would say to myself "Do you REALLY want to put off this homework, when you know if you do you'll do it at the last minute and probably get a worse grade for it?" I hated getting caught by my teacher doing late homework, so that motivated me to get it done early. You could always try what my cousin does: Do the work early and reward yourself later. Like, clean the kitchen now, and then later in the afternoon make yourself a nice bubble bath. =]

I think that you could give yourself points for every half an hour of homework that you do. When you get ten or twenty points you could have a treat. If you get ten points you could get a silver award. You would earn a small treat. If you get twenty points you could earn a gold award. You would earn a large treat. The key to getting motivated with cleaning is to do a little and often. Only do cleaning when you are in the mood for it. You could concentrate on one room at a time. You might like to do clutter clearing every three months. If all is tidy then cleaning won't take long. Good luck.

That's a hard one, because I myself is lazy to do assignments and cleaning. But just a while ago I've finished cleaning the bathroom, you just need to pushed yourself and think of the advantages you could get when doing such things, like I think if I would do my assignment earlier I could have more ample time to relax and be in front of PC, in the case of cleaning I just put in my head that if I get used to these chores I wouldn't be a burden and I'm being more independent which is a very good sign of maturity.

First of all, ask yourself if there is something making you depressed. That could be one of the things that could make you lazy. If you are depressed, look for something you can do to give you hope like a new hobby or learn something new. If not, you have to make work fun. sometimes, I play music while working and it is a lot of fun.

Well I don't know if you're in highschool, or college or what exactly. But do you have any dreams/goals you've had on your mind? Keep thinking of those when it comes to homework, just think " I really want this job" or "I really want to go to this school..I need to do this!" And cleaning well... I'm lazy in that dept. too. But I try to turn off EVERYTHING , except music. Then I focus on cleaning only... it helps when you don't have a cell phone going crazy or a computer sitting there turned on just WAITING to be used.

Set up an aim for yourself and timetable for achieving it.
