I read in a site drmirkin.com that lifting weights enlarges your muscles and makes you stronger. Some body builders lift weights for more than 6 hours a day, but you don't have to waste that much time to become very strong. Training for weightlifting is done in sets. A set of 10 means that you lift and lower a heavy weight 10 times continuously before you rest. If you repeat these sets of 10 three times with a rest period between each set, you have done three sets of 10. Most competitive bodybuilders spend hours trying to do many sets over and over again. You don't have to do that. Various studies show that you can gain up to 80% of your maximum strength by picking only 4 to 8 specific lifts; lifting one set of ten of the heaviest weight in each, and doing this only in two workouts a week. The reduced workload causes fewer injuries and leaves you with a lot of extra time to do other things.

hi chester!! in the point of a bodybuilder gaining mass and be strong is two different adaptation, some people are thin but they are strong, some people have lean mass but they are not strong, first you should do is consult a doctor or professional nutritionist and gym trainer, they will assist what type of body do you have (ecto/meso/endo), eat well balance food every three hours, your meal should consist of carbs(complex/simple), protien, fiber and healthy fat(flax seed oil, omega3 fish oil, olive oil) with regards exercise first do bodyweight exercise like pushup/pullup/chinup/squat or go to gym have proper program for your goal...
