Transform Me

Here is a poem that I wrote at a very low time in my life when I was struggling with a lot of issues. I would love to get some feedback from everyone. I stand here once again in the shame of my sin. My head hanging low. The pain rips away at my soul. It takes my breath away. I cry out in desperation, searching for mercy and feel a peace flood my soul and the reassurance that I am forgiven. I look around, but there is no one there, yet it feels as though someone is holding me close. I feel your love surround me and stand amazed. I'm amazed that you love me. I'm amazed that, although you don't need me, you want me. I'm amazed that you call me your friend, more so that you call me your child. In myself, I am worthless, undeserving of your love. But through your grace, I am made worthy. When you look at me, you don't see all the stupid things I've done, but you see your son. God, take my life. Take everything I have and everything I am. Transform me.

This is a good poem. I wish I had those same similar feelings. Your sense of faith is very strong in this poem, and I hope that others can learn or see that having that strong of faith is good. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much for your response! That was a really rough period in my life and God definitely helped me out and reassured me that I am here for a purpose and that we all make mistakes; it's how we react to those mistakes and use them that makes a difference!

I am glad to hear that. A lot of people have a hard time recgonizing God's presence in their life. (Me included) I take inspiration from your poem and hope that I someday wll b able to recognize God's presence in my own lie, the way that you were able to.

Thank U for your sharing! I really appreciate that you can write a poem while I just write my diary...lol Everybody has low times. I have experienced once maybe two years ago, it's the first time I feel my life is so dark and depressed...But everytime I feel low, I tried to calm down and to contemplate, write down everthing in my mind. After I think it through, I can learn a lot and gain courage again to go on... Anyway, thanks for your sharing, it makes me call up the low time I've been through and the things I learned. Thank U again! I like that. We have to keep go on whatever happneds...So be brave.. Best wishes! Catherine

You are absolutely right that we have to keep going no matter what happens. Life isn't always fair and there are always going to be things that come our way that are discouraging, disappointing, and stressful, but it's how we react to those things that speaks volumes about our character. Thanks for your response!

Hi Scott. Thankyou for sharing this testimony of the love of God for His redeemed children. May God use it to bring peace to many. I have known, loved and served my loving Father God, through the Lord Jesus Christ, for 51 of my 73 years. He has been my constant Companion, my Counsellor and Guide, my Strength and Enabler, my Teacher - my EVERYTHING! So many times in my life I have been aware of His TRANSFORMING power in my life. My life completely changed 51 years ago, but the wonderful thing is that He is still changing me, transforming me into the likeness of His Son. I can look back on the worst times in my life and say with confidence that those were the times God used to "grow" me.
