Is chrome making my firefox work slower?

I recently installed google chrome to my pc and after that firefox takes too much time to start. Before it was not that slow.
Now the firefox windows opens up and then after a moment it gets stuck and then it is like that for 10 seconds before it gains it breath and becomes ok.
Is it because of chrome ??
What do you think? Have anyone else had the same experience?

This is not due to add-ons.
I have add-ons ..but not many.
But without chrome installed Firefox worked normal..
chrome works faster..but not good at many times...this was tested mant times on many other systems and OS like vista,xp and windows 7..
everywhere it was same.. after chrome was installed .some problem with firefox..but this happens only when firefox was opened keeping chrome open..

are you using addons in firefox?if yes, then maybe you could remove some unimportant addons on firefox. right now i'm using chrome for browsing coz it's using small amount of memory than firefox.
