What do YOU do for Christmas?

We all have our own traditions for Christmas, and I'm sure for the other holidays too. I always go to my brother's house for Christmas, to celebrate it with his wife and two kids. I always spend the night with them, watch movies, then get to bed early [because my brother, even at age 31, still loves waking us up at an ungodly hour to open at least one gift] . We usually open gifts first [I normally just watch them open gifts, because I usually only get one] then we eat a breakfast of whatever they had in the fridge. I usually stay until New Years, and I watch the ball drop with them. The next day I head home. So, what are your traditions? Do you spend Christmas with family, friends, or both? Do you like the traditions you take part in or do you do them simply because they are tradition?

Last year was my first Christmas being married and we started some new traditions which is always fun and this year is going to be great because it will be our first Christmas with our baby boy! Normally, we celebrate Christmas Eve with my wife's grandparents and then Christmas day, my wife and I will be spending that morning together as a family, and that afternoon, we will be with my wife's whole family. It is hard to get together with my side of the family. My brother is a paramedic and sister is a nurse, and they work crazy hours, so we have to be a bit flexible in getting together. This year, we are getting together the Saturday after Christmas. I love Christmas because we get the opportunity to get together with family and friends!

Aw, that's so sweet! Congratulations on the new addition to your family! Boy, that would be crazy, I used to work at a hospital as a cleaner, so I got to talk to all the nurses and doctors who had to leave home on the holidays for work. And isn't that what Christmas is about? Spending time with family and friends! Thank you for sharing. =]

Aw, that sounds great! My family has a Christmas get-together before the holidays because our family is so big we can't all spend Christmas in one place or the house would burst!

Hubby and I will spend our Christmas Day together. I'll be cooking and in between we'll talk, play our game and just spend time together. I called my Dad yesterday and I'll call my Mom today. My niece and nephew came over for gifts yesterday and even Morgana opened hers. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STANDING STRONG IN MY BELIEFS**
