Do you think Bears should be locked in parks?

Bears at the bear park in Georgia - This is just one of several pics I got of the bears. We also got video of them. There were so cute, but so sad :(

I recently went to Georgia to see my family and while there we went to a bear park. It was so sad to see these bears locked in these big cement cages. You could purchase food to feed them and it seemed as if the bears were begging for it. The place was clean and all I guess, it just didn't seem right. When they said we were going to the bear park, I was picturing a park that we drove through and saw the bears. Do you think this should be allowed to happen?

Well that is the way of the world. They are there just for amusement and to entertain the public and to make money...and it isn't fair...but as long as they are taken care of..and not neglected...or hurt..than I guess that's the way it goes....

Bear at Georgia Bear Park - his is another of the bears at the park, one of my favorites.....
That is kinda part of what I was talking about here, they acted as if they were starved. They begged for the food that we were giving them. Even if they weren't starving I don't think they should be kept in a cement cage though. Fed or not, they should be able to roam in the trees and at least think they were free to do as they please??????

It depends on the park. I live in Montana and we have a bear park but it is open range, you drive through it and they are all animals that were rehabilitated due to illness or injury so they are not kept there forever.

That would be cool. Sound like what I was thinking we would be going to. Like I had pictured in my head. If it is there to help them then it is good. I just still feel bad for them. Thank you for your reply.

No, I don't think it's very nice. They should be out in the wild where they'd be happy.

They are not tied, as you can see in my pic they are down lower, the only way a child would be in danger was if they climbed over and jumped in. The childs saftey is not the issue here, I was not at all worried about my kids, as I have 3, it is the bears.......

Zoos are pointless and unfair to the animals.

I wouldn't say zoo's are pointless really. They did have reasons for having the bears that they did have. Like for instance one had been in a circus and stuck in a tiny cage all day long. She still stands by the wall and shakes her head back and forth because that was all she could do in the circus. It would be unfair to now put them back into the wild.
