I love this show but I have to say I am not smarter than a 5th grader and that makes me feel so dumb.L.O.L. But the questions are not the ame as when I grew up some of them are but the math these days are so different and difficult.

My name is Paula and...I am NOT smarter than a fifth grader! (LOL) My daughter is going to be in third grade next year and already she comes out with things that leave my stumped. I have been watching ‘Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader’ and I admit I am not doing so well! All I can say is thank God for the Internet; it has saved my life on several occasions after being thrown a rather tough question from my first grader! Things are different from when I was at school and what is hard for me is that I did most of my junior education in Italy where the learning is totally different, so between that and what I have forgotten I am no help to my poor daughter!

are you smarter than a fifth grader? - Have you ever tried to play along on the show?
yes the questions are much different then when I was growing up in school. I cant get past the questions sometime and it makes me feel dumb also. My kids bring home math home work now a days and I didnt even begin doing math like that till High school or even learn some of the things they bring home. I like the game show though.

It is scary how much education has evolved in the past few years. Kids are expected to know more and make better grades these days. What happened to being a kid, going out and riding your bike when you got home from school? Now a days they come straight in and do homework for 4-5 hours. Are kids today really beter prepared to enter the real world? And am I smarter than a fifth grader? Absolutely not. Those questions are things I should have learned in college but have somehow managed to forget.
