Do you want to have children young or later in life and why?

I chose to start having children when I was 24 because I wanted to have all of my childbearing years done before I was 30. It is a fact that the rate of deformities and problems increases significantly the older you are (especially after 35) and I personally would prefer not to risk it. I also want to have more energy to play with my kids and run after them. In decades past, women tended to have their children younger... in today's society most women are working out of the home and thus must start their families later in life. Many people these days believe that women should wait because they are more financially, mentally, and emotionally stable. What do you think? When did you (or do you) choose to have your children? Why?

I agree with you. I have not had any children yet and I don't plan to until I am closer to 24-25. I'm 20 right now and while I have a boyfriend I do want to wait a few more years until we are at least more financially stable and hopefully married. Otherwise I do plan on having children as soon as I am able but most likely not until I am closer to 24.

I got pregnant when I was 22 years old. It was not a choice nor a mistake. It was just God's timing. I had my son when I was 23 years old. I would rather have my kids at a mature age. I did not want to get pregnant at 16 years old. I want] to be able to enjoy my life while I am still young. I am 31 now and I would like to have another child before I turn 35. But as of now, I am fine with the three that I already have.
