As a lot of my friends here on mylot know, I am a stay at home mother. Lately I have been trying to find a job, even online, that I could do in order to help out a little more. Well I think I might have finally found something. I am meeting with someone today and I might be able to take on their daughter to watch while they are working. I think that this is going to be just what I need, not only will I be bringing in some more money for our home, I will also have a new playmate for my daughters. I know that they are very excited about it and I know that I am too because I know that this will be just what we need. I was wondering.... Is there anyone else here on mylot who had recently become a care giver? What did you have to change? Did you (or do you still) enjoy it? Why or why not?

Congratulations on your potential addition to your income. As you already have children of your own, this would prove not to difficult for you. A few years back, my wife did the same thing. She is not licensed or anything. She just did it for extra income. A little girl was brought to our home every morning; and picked up later in the day. One thing my wife did was to have a small notebook where she wrote everything about the little girl she was caring for. On what time she ate, what she ate. If the girl was sick, what time she took her medicine, etc. It was a simple thing, which proved helpful when the mom asked about these things.

I've been caring for children in my home for 10 years. It's the greatest job ever. Crafts will become so enjoyable as you watch how each child differs in doing each little thing. I promise you it is a move you wont regret. Most states have programs where you can sign up to get state paid for feeding a child that's not yours in your home. Just thought I'd throw that tip out there.
