What is the signifigance of the number?

Everyone has a number to the right of their username. I'm still not clear on what that number represents.

41 is the number I've grown up with my whole life... I look up to my big brother and his football number in high school was 41 every year, and the one year I played, coincidentally I got 41 too! And I did not choose. SO, I became attached and it's been with me for ever.

It's the number of times you replied to a discussion. I'm new but I'm sure it's correct. It's just a neat way to keep track of how many times you've replied to a discussion.
