I just want to know if there is difference between those two celebrations-how do you celebrate them?

Christmas is more enjoyable than New year because it's the day when Jesus was born..

hi invisiblelady for me its sort of hard either way as I am in a retirement center only because my son lost his job and we ran out of money and were evicted. of course my son did not want me hobbling around every day just looking for homeless shelter so he and a social wor ker put me here as I am 83 and slightly handicapped and my son got gov help into a sponsored apt with three other men who are all out of wor k too. this economy has split up my family my son is my only family. I have been here a year now, and still it is not like home with my son. but I do have a few f riends here and they have a celebration for each holiday, just not what I am used to but its better than being homeless.

As for me I enjoy the Christmas holiday more than the new years. We have a big family get together with all the food that you can eat. On New Years we have nothing or do nothing. Me and hubby might get a pizza and rent a good movie. At midnight we give each other a kiss and off to bed we go. I know it sound like that is very exciting, but we don't have alot of friends to do anything with. Have a nice evening. Keep Smiling.

For me New Year is much fun than Christmas because usually we don't prepare much on Christmas and we are celebrating quietly. Unlike during Christmas is much very fun we are celebrating cheerfully and fireworks are everywhere. We sing all night and we wait for the countdown.

Christmas is a solemn celebration for the birth of Jesus, while New Near is a noisy celebration for the new year to come. If its enjoyment, it would be New Year, but when its religion, I prefer Christmas. Both of them are very good celebrations though. Christmas binds us as a whole family while New Year brings us hope and preparation for the years to come.
