Did you have a part time job when you were a student?

I was a tutor for a high school boy when I was a college student. This was a nice experience for me because it was my first time to have the "work". And I could earn something extra by myself.

I sure did! In fact, doing tuition wasn't my first. I had been a waiter. I have also been a kitchen helper. I have also been a technical assistant. I have also been a sales man. I have also been a stall holder. Keeps me busy during the otherwise, dull and long school breaks when I was still schooling!

here in the philippines you never get a part time job unless you are 18 years of age. some country they can start having a job when they are 16. but in my case i work even i was 14, for i am big in built and that was my grand fathers business. so it was not noticable thati was young back then. but when i turned 18 i worked partime at a chicken restaurant and from then on entered the band of my father.

Since you had worked in a restaurant, I think you must be good at cooking since you have experience there?

I have tried working in a restaurant for 2 months during summer when I was Junior and in my senior year, I was also tutoring a High School student, It was challenging in the sense that I have a hectic schedule since I was also active in extra-curricular activities!

No.But I really want to find a part-time job. Because I am a graduate stundent now, and my parents are farmers. So I don't want to ask my parents for money any more. Due to some reason, I have not find one. Beside, my tutor give me a lot of work to do. And I feel a little depressed. How should I do? Maybe this is just a excuse for me. But this term is coming to the end, and the examanations are coming too. So I will have a try next term, because there will not so many classes then.

When I was in college I applied to be a student assistant in the university's computer lab department, we are the ones who help maintain the computer labs and to monitor the users. I joined when I was already 3rd year, I wished that I had joined sooner since I really enjoyed being part of the team plus we get paid per hour. I get to use the money to buy stuffs that I like It's a great feeling not having to ask my mom for money.

I never had a part-time job when I was at college. But I did work as a tutor in my spare time demanded by my students' parents years ago. Now I don't want to work as a tutor as it takes up my spare time when I can enjoy myself doing something I would like to. There have been times when someone invites me to, but I have not accepted it so far. Maybe I will sometime in the future when I am happy to. Anyway it was a good experience of yours to be engaged in tutoring before having your real job. Enjoy yourself, youless.

Since you already have a full time job, you don't really have to have the part time job. As you are tired already after work, you need spare time for your family and yourself.

When i was studying for my Architecture i had taken a part time job at a civil engineers office and i was paid a stipend which in the 60`s was not a bad amount. It was my first pay and i worked there for about 8 months. After that i took up a full-fledged job as a trainee in an Architects office where i received double the amount while iwas still a student.I worked here for a year. Then i changed the job and again as a student i worked with a well known Architects firm where i got double the salary. Here too i worked as a trainee for a year. After that i did not work anywhere as i was preparing for my finals and took up a job only after i graduated. This was in the `70s.

Well, I am in high school and I currently have a writing job, and I just came back to Mylot today because there is really nothing to do on the internet. I'm a little tired of my classmates on facebook, they're just very boring.

It was only during the las months of my college that I thought of going for a part time job. I joined a customer care call center where I had to work as a customer executive in voice department. I had to attend calls daily witha target set to over 100 calls in a day and minimum 7.5 hours of accumulative call time. It was a good experience for me. I had never realized that the job of a call center employee could be so much hectic. It was a domestic call center for Airtel and I was being paid just over 7000 bucks per month. ut being my first salary, I was too much excited to be in it. It just added some adventure to my life. I made new friends. It was a good exposire for me. I worked for 2 months and then left the job as I had to gon a long leave for my brother's marriage.

Yeah it was. But i didnt mind spending that much time because I started the job during my holidays and since it was the last semester, I hardly any classes during the day. Just 5 classes over the whole week which I would manage somehow. I took Monday as an off rather than Saturday or Sunday

In my senior year of high school I was in H.E.R.O. which stands for Home Economic Related Occupations and I worked in the school cafeteria for a few hours each morning before classes. I did attend a business college but I don't recall having a job then....just sold Mary Kay. Marsha
